Hi friends! This blog post is dedicated to all my current foodie obsessions.
- A turkey breast, cheese, avocado, and cranberry sauce toastie
- Chunky Kit Kats – my favourites are the Caramel and Cookie Dough. Milo is good too, but it doesn’t have that much of a flavour
- Iced Vanilla Lattes from a local cafe
- French Toast
- Overnight oats with chocolate chips & walnuts
- A cup of peppermint tea or hot chocolate before bed as part of my night time routine
- Kiwifruit every day (I used to only like the gold ones, but the green ones are definitely growing on me for the IBS benefits)
- Extra probiotics – I like having the light yakults or Greek Yoghurt
- Milo ice cream. Check out my recipe “here“
- Adding turmeric to everything
- Peaches
- Apple and Cinnamon muffins – I had one on the plane back from NZ, and I am now obsessed. I’ve even got some apples there ready to go to make my own batch, woo!
- Following more of an anti-inflammatory/Mediterranean diet, but not too strict. Even changing one meal a day can really help inflammation drastically
- I don’t have these very often because they are VERY bad for you, but I do like a Celsius Energy Drink (the watermelon flavour). I used to love V because they’re so popular in NZ, but I think they caused too many teeth issues for me so now I only have them once or twice a year
- Beetroot and feta salad. I have a recipe “here“.
- Food art and Charcuterie Boards in general – I don’t think that’s going to ever change though
- Cape Byron Chocolate Lava Ice Cream (the best period craving snack)
- Dipping strawberries into melted caramilk chocolate
- Cucumber/Carrot sticks with hummus.
- Peanut butter on toast (and I’m not a big peanut butter fan, but I get more energy when I have this)
- Pineapple Fanta (this was SO good when it was over 45 C here in Melbourne)
- Doing a cheat’s McFlurry at home. Getting ice cream, then covering in m&ms and chocolate sauce. We miss the McFlurry machine
- Adding in more salt where I can to help with the dysautonomia/suspected POTS (I am not a doctor FYI)
- Making myself really basic meals when Luke is at cricket (like a wrap with chicken tenders, feta, beetroot etc) or just fish and vegetables
What’s your current foodie obsession? Let me know in the comments!
Ash x
