Hello everyone! HAPPY NEW YEAR! My partner Luke and I spent a week in my hometown, Christchurch for Christmas, and I wanted to make a food journal/food diary of all the fun Christmas food we ate and some of Christchurch Eats in general. Let me know if you’d like me to share any of the recipes in the future.

Santa Claucuterie (hehe)

Food Art

The food I used for my Santa was: 1 x meringue, strawberries, popcorn, grapes, pretzels, babybel cheese, frozen raspberries, & licorice.

Charcuterie Boards (Savoury + Sweet)

I think these are cute. I’m really proud of my dessert one for some reason. And yay for lollycake! Luke made the truffles and gingerbread.

Ambroisa Eton Mess

I saw this recipe on Facebook somewhere, and I wanted to give it a try – I think it was fresh cream (whipped), crushed meringues, a can of boysenberries, berry Greek yoghurt, pink marshmallows, fresh strawberries, and flakes. It was delicious, but I think it had too much dairy in it and upset my tummy (worth it though). A very easy dessert, and both my mum and Luke enjoyed it very much. I liked how the cream changed the texture of the meringues (like a choc ripple cake).

So yummy!

My Mum’s Food Art

So very cute! A duck and the bananas look like Stitch (I am not sure what she was going for with the second one, but very cute nonetheless). I have been looking at food art now too, it looks fun to create.

I can’t pick a favourite.

Some Snacks We Had

I forgot to take a pic of all of the snacks I got (maybe I took a vlog of them, but I still haven’t gone through all the footage yet).

Hope you enjoyed this foodie journal!

Much love,

Ash xx
