FIFTEENS RECIPE

Hello, Eats with Ash friends. The other week, I saw a recipe on Instagram for something called “Irish Fifteens” that looked very similar to New Zealand’s Lolly Cake, so I thought I would give it a go. A quick disclaimer before we start, though – this didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped. I’ve forgotten the name of the Instagram user that I saw make this, but this recipe is adapted from that, FYI.

Fifteens are a Northern-Irish no-bake tray slice (even though you don’t actually need a tray). I don’t have a lollycake recipe on this blog, but I do have one on my main blog, asheycakes “here“.

Ingredients/What You Will Need

  • 400 grams Biscoff Biscuits
  • A can of condensed milk
  • 250 grams of mini marshmallows
  • 250 grams of Malteasers
  • 120 grams of butter (fully melted)
  • Dessicated coconut
  • Rolling pin (and sandwich bags) or a blender/food processor
  • Bowl
  • Mixing spoon
  • Glad Wrap

Method

  1. Crush Biscoff biscuits into tiny pieces (I did this by smashing them with a rolling pin in sandwich bags), but you could just blend them to a desired consistency.
  2. Place crushed biscuits into a bowl. Melt the butter in the microwave with the condensed milk (this is where I went wrong – I didn’t warm the condensed milk). Then pour over biscuits and mix.
  3. Add in marshmallows, Malteasers, and any other things you might be adding in (i.e., glace cherries)
  4. Roll the mixture out into a log and cover with dessicated coconut.
  5. Wrap the log in Glad Wrap and place it in the fridge overnight (or until set). For me, the text didn’t quite work, so I just put it into a loaf tin and added coconut, then wrapped it up (we MacGyver-ed it).
  6. Once set, slice and enjoy!
