Easy Mango Sorbet Recipe to Try at Home

Hello! I was gifted an ice cream maker for Valentine’s Day (from my partner Luke) and one of my 2025 goals was to make ice cream and sorbet. This week, I made mango sorbet. Here’s the recipe if you wanna try it out yourself.

Makes just under 2L. For 2L, use 4 big mangos.

Ingredients/What You Will Need

  • 1 x ice cream maker (if you have it, I’m sure it works without)
  • 1 x saucepan
  • Blender
  • 3 x keitt mangos
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup castor sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Dash of lime juice

Method

  1. Pour water and sugar into saucepan. Bring to boil. Once boiled, remove from heat and cool.
  2. Peel and dice 3 mangos, blend in a blender (I just used my nutri-bullet). You want a pureed mango consistency.
  3. Add in sugar syrup once cooled, lime, and salt to blended mango. Blitz for a few seconds.
  4. Cool mixture in fridge for around 30 minutes.
  5. Pour mixture into ice cream maker and churn for 25 minutes.
  6. Pop into an airtight container and freeze for around 3 hours.
  7. Before serving, leave out for 5 mins to soften up. Enjoy!

Pro Tip: If using an ice cream maker, make sure to freeze the tub for at least 12 hours prior to making any ice cream or sorbet.
