Everywhere we ate in Torquay, Victoria, Australia

Hi friends! I haven’t posted much here lately as life has gotten super crazy (my 30th birthday + a whole lot of whack-AF health things going on and just general life things). I wanted to do something a bit different and make a foodie blog post about everything my partner Luke and I ate in Torquay. We went to Torquay for a couple of nights as part of my birthday present. I also made a travel guide over on asheycakes that you can check out “here“. I think I’m going to call this sorta blog Global Bites so that when we try food overseas, I can put it in here! Woo.

Bomboras, Torquay

Bomboaras Torquay is an Australian pub/cafe specialising in Australian cuisine and utilising local ingredients where they can. I LOVED the food here. We ate here twice (once for dinner and once for brunch + it’s doggo friendly). They also have a beach bar located on the Esplanade. Definitely recommend. My favourite dish was the lamb skewers.

The Salty Dog Cafe

The Salty Dog Cafe is a cute little cafe located right next to the beach. I liked the vibe here but I wished there was more sweet stuff on the menu. A lot of it felt really healthy and of course there is nothing wrong with that because being healthy is good – I just wanted some more brunch options. They had “dogachinos” which was great.

Pollo Torquay

As it was raining one night, we opted for takeaway and decided to go for some chicken vibes. We tried Pollo Torquay and it was really nice, but nothing to brag about. It’s a good solid meal and kept me full for a while. I kinda wish I swapped with Luke though as his chicken roll looked way better than mine. HAHA!

Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery

The Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery is a great place to get chocolate. We stopped here to have a quick bite to eat but because we went on cup day, it was very busy so I got quite anxious and overwhelmed. I kinda wish I ordered more to eat, but ah well. There’s always a next time.

Also special mention to Uncle Donut – we grabbed a vanilla slice donut on the way out. I didn’t take a photo of it but it was nice. And I want to shout out 9 Grams as we ate there last time we visted Torquay on our big Great Ocean Road Trip.

Have you been to Torquay? What are your favourite restaurants there? I’m hoping we can go back and finally try Doc Hughes and Fishos next time.
